9 to 11 June – Norway
X-35 “NorX” Overall Winner of Færdern 2006
The Norwegian X-Yachts dealer, Otto Backe, was overall winner of the Færdern race in Norway in his all new X-35 One Design. Dan Pedersen and Niels Ditmar, from X-Yachts Denmark, had come to Norway to join the “NorX” crew. 1,100 yachts were participating in this yearly event - starting out in a slight breeze, but with winds increasing to 20 knots.
Even with a LYS rate as high as 1.34, no other yachts in this LYS R36 Class came near Otto Backe & Co.
Another five X-35s participated and tried out their potential in the LYS R36 Class, where approximately fifty yachts had entered. They were all positioned in the first twelve.
