2 - 5 May
With X-Yachts’ Dan Petersen at the helm the X-43 had her debut on the racecourse at the Maior Cup in Kiel during the weekend 2-5 May. A total of six races were sailed from Friday to Sunday in winds from 5 to 35 knots and the X-43 named “Hoddox” placed 2nd in the final score.
The X-43 absolutely lived up to the expectations of the designers and engineers at X-Yachts Design office. They created this new 43ft as a performance cruiser, but without doubt her speed potential will add to her abilities and be appreciated by the family, who enjoys racing when the opportunity offers. The designers have achieved preserving the good and fast sailing characteristics of X-Yachts in a boat that is built with optimum comfort to satisfy the cruising family.
Dan Pedersen reported after sailing the Maior Race in Germany:
”We really had the possibility to try her out under various conditions. Some races were sailed with almost no wind and in other races we reach a speed of 16 to 17 knots, and still we felt that she sailed very comfortable.
