X-332 Sport “patent3” - Overall Winner of Kiel Week, IMS Class 2
Former X-99 Class President, Jürgen Klinghardt, raced his X-332 Sport to be the most successful yacht during the offshore races at the Kiel Week 2006.
Winner of Kiel Cup series
A series under the Kiel Week, is the Kiel Cup. Here, the X-332 “patent3” came first in the IMS Class 2, with seven 1sts and one 5th place. The weather conditions were quite difficult; light air on the first and second day and a medium breeze on the third day.
But not only did she win her Class, the X-332 was also overall winner of the Kiel Cup series. The crew had great fun, as “patent3” was the smallest yacht in the IMS Class 2, however in most of the races, she was first to finish in front of the bigger yachts like the First 36.7 "Lettland", the Dufour 40 "Chaos40" and the Grand Soleil 37 "Westwind".
Senatspreis
It seemed as if the X-332 Sport just could not stop to carry home prizes. Though the weather conditions were tough on Saturday 25 June, the “patent3” took home the “Senatspreis” trophy in the IMS 2 Class.
Kaiserpokal
Furthermore, Jürgen Klinghardt and his crew won the famous “Kaiserpokal”, handed out to the most successful yacht overall during the offshore races at the Kiel Week.
Jürgen Klinghardt commented smiling after the races: "We did not expect such a result; we are very happy. The new set-up with non-overlapping jibs like on the X-35 works very well; and the crew did a fantastic job."
