Copa del Rey - Spain
Not less than three X-37s participated in the 24 Copa del Rey in Spain. Nine races were sailed and the X-37s were positioned 2nd, 4th and 6th, out of 33 participating yachts, in the IMS 670 Class. The X-37 “Movistar”, skippered by Pedro Campos, came second; followed by Dufour 40 “Quum Sevilla”, skippered by Javier Goizueta. Fourth was the X-37 “Clinica Arroyo”, sailed by Antonio Soldefilla; and 6th, the Danish Team Velux, in X-37 “Velux”. In November, the X-37 “Great Sailing” participated in the first serious test for the 2006 season, by winning the Copa RANC in Barcelona with a 1,1,1,2; in front of a GS37 with positions of 2,3,2,1. Both yachts were racing under IRC, and in light wind conditions.
Team Velux
Danish Team Velux did well in other races during the 2005 racing season; for example, they won the IMS 670 Class in the Princess Sophia, on Palma de Mallorca, in April.
“RUND UM” in Switzerland
The race “Rund Um” on Lake Constance was held for the 55th time in Switzerland. X-Yachts dealer, Eugen Munz, skippered the X-37 “Swimmingpool” and succeeded in coming 10th out of the 452 participating yachts. |  | Three X-37s coming 2nd, 4th and 6th in Copa del Ray. |
